This adorable design will eventually have a wedding package to match. With my holiday retail job ending, my Etsy productivity will hopefully increase. :)

Invitation
New item alert!
I've (finally) designed a complete wedding invite package. These are digital files, that are customized to include all your wedding info and colors, created to work with MOO templates.
And while we're at it, there have been some small changes to my shop policies that you may want to check out.

Love is in the air...
Christmas and New Years seem to be the season for proposing. Two former coworkers are now engaged (to different people, not each other) and this Yahoo article gives a rundown of recent celebrity proposals. Perfect time to introduce my newest Save the Date design:
Congratulations to everyone tying the knot this year!

Something new...
After filling several sketchbook pages and playing around on Photoshop, I've decided to finally put my graphic design skills to use on Etsy. I am now offering wedding save the dates, invitations, and thank yous. These are customized digital files that can be printed via an online company (such as MOO or Vistaprint) or at home. Only one design is available now, but I have several others that will be ready this week (they just need a bit more finessing before they're ready).
A special thanks to photographer Alex Siebenthal, for allowing me to use her images for the samples!

New Etsy Items
I've finally been able to create and list some new Etsy items. Along with some more magazine bowls, I've also added some new postage stamp cards:

Recycled Magazine Bowl inspired by Valentine's Day (Unfortunately I was too busy to post it prior to 2/14. Or am I extremely early for Breast Cancer Awareness month?)

Feeling the Love
I'd like to announce that I am now on Twitter. This is something I never thought I'd say. Joining was a class requirement (Designing for the Social Web, so it makes sense), so I figured that at least I could say it wasn't my idea.
However, I'm only a few days in, and already (begrudgingly) seeing some benefits to joining. I already have followers I do not know in real life who found me because of our shared interest in Etsy. And, I've received two more Treasury inclusions due to the added exposure: Origami Heart Card, featured in "With Love, Your Secret Admirer" and Purple & Yellow Magazine Bowl in "Pounce!"
So.... Twitter is useful. Go figure. Feel free to follow me, @artofsallymack. My feed is also available in the righthand navigation bar. I'll admit that it's nothing special right now, but check in for Etsy shop news and discounts in the future.

Happy Christmas!
Hope you are having a wonderful holiday, full of fun, food and cheer!
I've been very busy and haven't checked my Etsy account as often as I normally would. After the day's festivities, I decided to look in and found a little Christmas gift: my items have been included in two new treasuries!
redpaintedflowers included my orange & blue magazine bowl her treasury THINGS. I. LOVE. THURSDAY!!, and ClementinesJewelery put my purple & yellow magazine bowl in the treasury Pretty Pansy. A big thank you to both ladies, as well as belated thanks to WrensEye for adding my Apples and Bananas card in the treasury BANANAS!!!
I was feeling a bit down about not having made a sale yet, but every time I get a heart or treasury inclusion it lifts my spirits. It's nice to know my work is catching someone's eye, and hopefully I'll get that first sale very soon. :)

More Etsy Love!
Another item of mine has been featured in an Etsy treasury!
This time it's my purple & yellow magazine page bowl, in the treasury "After the Reading," which features items made from magazines, catalogs, and newspapers. A big thanks to member Mireloom for including me in her collection!

Double Thanks!
My orange and blue bowl made of recycled magazine pages is making a splash on Etsy! It's been featured in a second treasury, this time by wendyc0603. Check out her jewelry shop, Sol~E~Mar Designs.

Thank you!
I woke up this morning to find that I've gotten some props from another Etsy user! Member jesseBYAH-- who sells absolutely beautiful photographs on the site-- included one of my paper bowls in the treasury, "Shades of Orange and Blue."
This is definitely inspiring. My shop is taking off more slowly than I planned, but it's great to know that people out there love what I've done so far. I can't wait until this move is over so I can set up my work space and add more merchandise to my store!

Etsy Store Sneaky Peaky

My Etsy store is open! Well... sort of.
Due to my increasingly busy schedule, I've only had time to finish, photograph, and list a few items. But I have to start somewhere, right? In the next few weeks I'll have more items for sale (I'm working on some new cards today), and will offer custom orders in June.
In the mean time, please feel free to leave me feedback, suggestions, or (friendly) criticism about my store. Is there anything you'd like to see for sale? Am I missing any details in my shop policies section? Does my profile need some tweaking? Let me know!

Everything Must Go!

About twice a year something happens that triggers a massive cleaning of our house. This time it was my sister providing the family with her Birthday/Christmas list for the year. As I started penning my own Christmas list, I looked around the living room and suddenly noticed all the stuff that's accumulated: books we didn't enjoy, shoes that were hardly worn, trinkets that no longer fit the decor. An urge to rid the house of clutter took over, and I immediately signed onto my eBay and Amazon accounts. Now I just need to wait and see if things sell. If they don't, it's straight to Freecycle or AmVets, just in time for us to replace everything with new stuff at Christmas time.
